Vestal Rotary Helps Children Shop

On December 27, 2017 a group of elementary aged children were provided a shopping opportunity at Kohls on the Vestal Parkway.  35 Children, selected by Vestal School District staff participated.  Each participating child was paired with a Rotarian or Friend of Rotary.  Children, assisted by an adult, shopped for clothing and shoes using a list provided by the parent(s).   Each child was allocated $125 of merchandise.  Kohls added an additional discount to increase the purchasing power of the allocation.
Following shopping, the children and adults visited Outback Steak House on Vestal Parkway for a lunch of hamburgers and fries courtesy of Outback.  After lunch parents retrieved their children and the Kohls purchases.  Club members who participated universally agree that this is one of the most rewarding activities the club conducts  and helps make the holiday season even more special, not only for the children, for Vestal Rotarians as well!
