Ev Morse
Everett (Ev) Morse died July 17, 2017 only days after celebrating his 100th birthday on July 5, 2017. He is survived by his wife June and his children, Ann and Jonathan. Ev worked as a librarian at Ithaca College. He was the grandson of the Everett Morse who founded Morse Chain.
Ev was a faithful charter member of the Lansing-Ithaca Rotary. He attended loyally up until a month before he died. The chief fundraiser of our group is a Chicken BBQ that occurs every April at Lansing High School. In the past Ev was the go-to person for that event. Ev continued his tradition of setting up our Salvation Army ringing every Christmas until the end.
The most unusual aspect of Ev was the kind of person he was. Ann Marie Hautaniemi, a former President of the group said of Ev that "he was one of the nicest people I ever had the privilege to know."
