Oneonta Rotary Organizes 29th Annual Ross Cordell Wrestling Tournament
Snow, ice and cold couldn’t pin Oneonta Rotary's 29th Annual Ross Cordell Invitational Wrestling Tournament! Almost all of the 18 scheduled teams were able to make it to the two-day tournament which was held on January 5th and 6th at the Oneonta High School, Oneonta, NY.

Over 30 years ago, Oneonta Rotarian Ross Cordell, a dedicated wrestling aficionado, approached several club members with an idea to hold a first-class wrestling tournament. The club embraced the vision and the Ross Cordell Wrestling Tournament was born. Today, the Oneonta Rotary Club organizes the event through a Tournament Committee of Club members, representatives of the Oneonta High School Athletic Department and interested members of the Greater Oneonta Community. Proceeds from the event assist athletes to go to sports camps and have paid for a new wrestling mat.

With the successful completion of the tournament, the Oneonta Rotary Club is looking forward to holding RYLA interviews and carrying out the annual spring Roadside Pick-Up.
